HIAD Happenings

The HIAD Happenings day service has been in operation since March 2006. This drop-in center/day service is open to any adult in the Durham Region who has experienced a brain injury.

HIAD Happenings promotes a comfortable, safe environment for people to take part in social/recreational programs. There is no sign-up necessary, for participation in group programs. There is no requirement that people join group programs. The drop-in service provides opportunity for people to take part as they choose.

Transportation assistance may be available

Participation at HIAD Happenings

1. Every adult living in Durham Region who has experienced a brain injury is welcome to participate, but you will need to bring any specific support that is required.
2. Everyone involved is encouraged to assist in the planning, operation and maintenance of the program.
3. Everyone will demonstrate the utmost respect and consideration for others, for themselves and for the program.
4. Activities will be accessible, free or as low cost as possible, where necessary.
