HIAD Happenings
The HIAD Happenings day service has been in operation since March 2006. This drop-in center/day service is open to any adult in the Durham Region who has experienced a brain injury.
HIAD Happenings promotes a comfortable, safe environment for people to take part in social/recreational programs. There is no sign-up necessary, for participation in group programs. There is no requirement that people join group programs. The drop-in service provides opportunity for people to take part as they choose.

Transportation assistance may be available
Participation at HIAD Happenings
- Every adult living in Durham Region who has experienced a brain injury is welcome to participate, but you will need to bring any specific support that is required.
- Everyone involved is encouraged to assist in the planning, operation and maintenance of the program.
- Everyone will demonstrate the utmost respect and consideration for others, for themselves and for the program.
- Activities will be accessible, free or as low cost as possible, where necessary.

- Cards and board games
- Crafts and art
- Educational/resource library
- Movies and Nintendo wii
